Louis Zorich has withdrawn from Classic Stage Company's off-Broadway production of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov due to a foot injury. Austin Pendleton, who also directs the play, will step into the role of Lebedev beginning October 26. Pendleton previoulsy performed the role in a 1990 production at Yale Repertory.
Ivanov stars Ethan Hawke, Joely Richardson and Juliet Rylance, and is currently in previews with an official opening set for November. 4. The cast also features Glenn Fitzgerald, Annette Hunt, Stephanie Janssen, Roberta Maxwell, George Morfogen, James Patrick Nelson, Anthony Newfield, Jonathan Marc Sherman and Anne Troupe.
Pendleton's Broadway acting credits include The Diary of Anne Frank, Grand Hotel, Doubles, Goodtime Charley and Fiddler on the Roof. His directing credits include Spoils of War, The Little Foxes, John Gabriel Borkman, The Runner Stumbles and Shelter.
